Discipleship

The Great Commission

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and MAKE DISCIPLES of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20 ESV)

Jesus told the crowds time and time again that, in order to be His disciples, they must deny themselves, take up their crosses, and follow Him. At Cleary, we believe that being a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ means more than simply repeating a prayer, filling out a card, and joining the church. We believe that being a disciple costs us everything. Why else would Jesus have encouraged His followers to count the cost? (Luke 14:25-33) We long for something more than religion at Cleary. We long to make fully devoted disciples of Christ who are denying themselves, taking up their crosses daily and following Him by rejecting the prosperity, power, and pleasures of this life to embrace the great commandment of our Lord (Mark 12: 28-31). We are longing to be and produce true, biblical disciples. We invite you to come pursue Him with us in radical obedience!
